Song Wat Road (ถนนทรงวาด), a legendry commercial area, is the center of agricultural products trade. This road runs parallel to Yaowarat Road and the Chao Phraya River in Samphanthawong Bangkok.
Presently, both sides of the road are the offices of import-export companies and shops that have wholesale and retail agricultural products, consumables goods, and food ingredients for cooking — by bringing from domestic sources and some imported from abroad.
Diversified goods are available for trade, including paddy, grains, seeds, cashew nuts, corn kernels, various nuts, dried fruits, plums, spices, sugars, chocolates, confectioneries, corns, and green beans.
Furthermore, you can find grass jelly, sesame seeds, basil seeds, mung beans, peanuts, soybeans, barley seeds, sesame seeds, grass jelly, butter, vegetables, fruits, cellophane noodles, monosodium glutamate, onions, garlic, dried chili and dried food.
Additionally, other consumption products include galvanized utensils and utensils, rice dishes, bowls, spoons, tiffins, trays, wooden barrels, etc.
The Song Wat Road used to be the most prosperous commercial area in the Rattanakosin era.
It is an important road that connects to the steamer port carrying goods from various cities to enter Bangkok. Many businesses established during the pioneer era are still operating today.
This area extends the Sampeng neighbourhood but retains the aura of former glory, whether old colonial-style buildings, classic buildings, Indian-style buildings, old mosques, shrines, temples, ancient communities blend in with the new in a charming way.

Song Wat Road has a total length of 1,196 meters, covering Samphanthawong Subdistrict and Talat Noi.
