Laem Chabang Port, the major deep seaport near the source of industrial factories for export, is the 3rd gateway port globally and the logistics hub in ASEAN. The Thai government has promoted this commercial port to be Thailand’s primary port for international shipping and trade, accommodating extra-large ships (Post Panamax), including car carriers.
The modern Laem Chabang port has the most time-consuming construction in the country. It has an area of 6,340 rai, located in Laem Chabang Municipality, Tambon Thung Sukla, Si Racha District of Chonburi province in the eastern part of Thailand, with approximately 120 kilometers from Bangkok and 20 kilometers from Pattaya City.
The seaport belongs to the main structure of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project. The construction began in 1987 and opened on January 21, 1991, with “Berth B1” first.

About 90% of the containers arriving at the port are currently transported by tow trucks, and 10% by trains. The trains will originate from ICD Lat Krabang (Inland Container Depot in Bangkok), a warehouse with customs procedures for incoming and outgoing goods with many shipments each time.
The country’s largest port is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities with international standards, container wharf, general cargo wharf, car loading docks, passenger berths, shipyards, ship repair and oil rig construction, customs office, including supporting areas for berth operations and related businesses.
This potential project provides a transportation network system for road, water, and rail transportation to enter and exit, connecting to different parts of Thailand and neighboring countries.
Also, there is enough space to develop other related businesses, such as a distribution center, truck terminal, free trade area, and other auxiliary facilities such as dangerous warehouses and training centers to prevent fire damage at international standards. Those who use the terminal services will benefit from the market competition between various operators.
The port is part of Laem Chabang Economic Zone, which consists of the industry estate for export small and medium industries, modern infrastructure and utilities, government center, residential community, transportation, and commercial district. Interestingly, a study project to develop coastal areas into a new town of prosperity.

- Route A: Laem Chabang Port – Sihanoukville – Phu Quoc Island – Koh Samui – Ends at Laem Chabang Port.
- Route B: Laem Chabang Port – Koh Samui – Ends in Singapore.
- Route C: Laem Chabang Port – Phu My Port, Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang City – Shenzhen City – End in Hong Kong.
As for foreign tourists, there is only one country from Singapore. The cruise ship route is
- Route D: Singapore – Redang Island (Malaysia) – Koh Samui – ends at Laem Chabang Port.
